I completely handpainted all the swirly clouds just like the artwork this was based off of. A lot of people were amazed I did that, and some thought I had bought fabric that looked like it. I think the most time consuming part of painting was the multiple layers I had to do it in to get that shaded gradient effect with the pale purple and yellow. After the shading was done, I used lots of sharpies to outline all the fine swirls to bring out the wispiness of the clouds.
Walking in the super tall platform heels I modded was also a challenge. They were originally platform stilettos. I couldn't find platform wedges in the exact shape I wanted (or that were tall enough to be accurate) so I filled in the gap between the heel and the toe with expandable foam and made my own wedge

The platform wedges started out as regular platform stripper heels since those are a lot easier to find. I used expanding foam to fill in the middle gap to turn them into wedges. Then I covered the newly formed platform wedge with paper mache to strengthen it. Here's progress pics: [link]
