Awarded Best in Class Workmanship and Presentation (Artisan division)

The first photo of my completed Astharoshe costume! This made its debut at Otakuthon 2010 in beautiful Montreal. More photos from my photoshoot with Jack at Justice Hall will be posted as I get them from the photographer.

Upgrades from AN: Evidently I have a jacket and hat now. Choosing to go with a jacket rather than making the dress all one piece was done on purpose. I can take it on and off with ease when it gets very hot. Almost every inch of this costume is handpainted :3 took many many hours of work

The hat is my most extravagant accessory and I love it! The brim is shaped out of wonderflex to maintain rigidity, and then it was covered in matching white fabric then hand painted. I think the blue banana looking things are ridiculous, but it looks good overall.

The collarpiece is interfaced with buckram to keep it stiff, and so that it can withstand the weight of the dangling beads at the end.

All my gold lines are outlined with 3D gold foil, a technique that's similar to gold leafing except for fabric.

Such a beautiful dress. I wish I had the entire Trinity Blood wardrobe. The clothes are so pretty!

The paint job is amazing!! Can I ask what kind of fabric you used for the white part of her outfit? It looks slightly stiff and creates a strong, beautiful layer over the blue part of the dress.

Thank you~ how did you make the petals banana looking thing on her hat? I can't seem to find a light weight material enough for it not to drag the hat down...>_<
