If you haven't seen Gankutsuou:The Count of Monte Cristo, suggest you check it out everyone can use a little drama, and the original Monte Cristo is an old classic fav of mine

The costume here is the character Haydee, who is like a companion to the count, but not his lover. She normally wears these crazy kimono-like outfits but I could not resist her white opera dress. In the anime, the dress almost had a life of it's own, and it wasn't simply just a white dress, but it sparkled with different colours and there were lots of beads, and it just reminded me of the inside of a mussel shell.

The outer dress is made from white polyester chiffon, the inner dress (which gives it that two-toned effect) is blue polyester chiffon, and a ton of beads of different materials (mostly glass) and colours. I spent an entire two weeks slaving over this costume before Fan Expo in September 2006. The wig is a green Amanda wig from cosworx. I parted it to the side, cut the side bang, and looped the hair up into two half ponytails. The jewelry and hair accessories are hand-crafted from sculpey and painted with metallic acrylic paint. I am wearing elf ear adhesives and Mehron Star Blend makeup in alabastar to make my skin white. the pretty shoes were a nice find in chinatown....and that staff is a papermache ukrainian egg, and a table leg painted gold
